We saw "W." today.
Some friends and I went to the early show. It's...interesting. We were almost numb when we came out. If it hadn't been so early I would have gone for a scotch. One of my friends who doesn't drink much at all was thinking a glass of wine would be good. I thought the acting was quite good. The impersonations were at times almost creepy. Less than a moment into the movie, I covered my face and said "Jesus Christ!" right out loud. The thought that these people are running our country is quite disturbing. Scary. But Brolin did bring a sense of humanity to George, a sad, pathetic sense. For both George's, you see hubris brought low.

1. Was it worth the money to see it?
Have heard different views, some say it was great others say it sucked, was it worth the $11 to see?

2. I paid 5.50 at the first showing. You could wait til it comes on the TV.
I am glad I saw it, though. George is such a walking, talking, smirking political disaster.

3. I know a lot of people have said they wouldn't want to relive the nightmare, but it would
be a good timeline primer for those who have been apolitical & haven't kept up. I want my hubby to see it. He's definitely anti-Bush/Rethugs but doesn't like political discussions. I think his eyes would be opened tremendously, having seen a lot of what Bush has done that hasn't been reported by the media -- & Bush's personality alone would go against the grain with my hubby.

4. It would probably be good for that.
In the movie, they all look like they did at Crawford before the inauguration. They were all sitting around in a study and looking like stunned deer in headlights. Stone got that feeling down, quite well.
