First thing Obama should address as president will be some kind of bailout
type program for the developing world. The current global financial situation has brought aid and infrastructure projects to a halt. And we are talking about the poorest of the world being subjected to this through no fault of their own.

I love the idea of him skipping the parade stuff after the inauguration as he and his secretary of state and international economic and trade team start the process of a international plan for this. It will be good to see a US president once again doing something for others instead of ourselves.

1. If they're not paying taxes, we need to find other ways to help them than financial bailouts.

Hillary had the right idea when she said the most effective thing we can do is be a model of leadership. The world simply doesn't have the resources for others to live the way we live right now. We should find a model of comfort in good simple sustainable living ourselves, and then export that working model to the world. Until that point we're leading them down a blind alley under the guise of "helping them develop".

2. Handing people worthless money doesn't do them a favor.
Of all the ridiculous statements to make in our current situation, this ranks among the most delusional.

the Euros, Pounds and Dollars.

You think that in the current situation suggesting something to help the poor is delusional, sure you are on the right site?
