FReepers getting desperate
planning to spread their own lies against Obama:

"PROJECT DEFEAT OBAMA 2008 -- a call to email action from now till election day.

Posted on Fri Oct 24 19:13:00 2008 by NYC_BULLMOOSE

A MODEST SUGGESTION for THOSE MOTIVATED TO HELP BUT WITH LIMITED TIME:

Go through your email contact list and think about who you might be able to reach-out to...

In the past, I have been loathe to contact friends, relatives and acquaintances with political messages/requests...

Generally, this is because, in contacting these folks I thought I would be either:

(A) Preaching to the choir...or

(B) Alienating people I basically liked who happened to view politics differently than I do.

Additionally, in the past, I have always thought — “listen both of the guys running for President are Americans, they both basically love this beautiful country and even if one is an idiot — we can survive — democracy isn't pretty but it works, we'll be OK. We've lived through worse — let's fight hard for our guy — but if we lose fair and square — so be it — we'll do it again in 4 years.

BUT THIS YEAR and THIS ELECTION ARE DIFFERENT.

Make NO MISTAKE — Obama is a real threat to our nation, our economy, and ultimately — even our freedom.

So back to my suggestion:

1. Collect all of the email addresses you have and create a distribution list or two... (I have one list that is basically a GOTV list for folks I know are kindred spirits and another list for folks I know who are either Independents or Democrats)

2. Draft appropriate letters/emails (customize if practical)

3. SHARE YOUR DRAFTS BY POSTING THEM ONLINE AT FREEREPUBLIC so that other Freepers can read them and perhaps borrow your best arguments for McCain/Palin

4. Start emailing — have a plan to email semi-regularly up until election day

5. POST PROGRESS REPORTS on FREEREPUBLIC to inspire and inform others."

2. Maybe they'd like to share their lists--if these are
fence-sitters they are contacting, we could send out corrections.

3. Strictly speaking, that wasn't so crazy . . .
And given that I personally believe that, "Make NO MISTAKE -- *McCain* is a real threat to our nation, our economy, and ultimately -- even our freedom" I see in this person a kindred spirit of sorts.

Just one who uses wildly different criteria to identify threats.

This is much more elevated than the usual FReeper spew.

4. I have become estranged from my own brother ....
Who suddenly began sending me right wing email hoaxes and chain letters ....

I asked him to stop, he told me to fuck off, explaining, in so many words, Im a big asshole because I wouldnt engage in his Rush-inspired rants and diatribes ...

Sorry bud .... It may be a free world, and you are free to speak as you wish, but you are not free to shove political CRAP up my ass ....

His mail is now diverted to a dead end account ....

I love him, but I will be no one's punching bag ...

5. I received one today from my SIL asking me to email everyone
in my contact list to join a chain! Here's the last line of the email!

Please pass this around to all people of prayer that you know and maybe, just maybe a more eloquent person of prayer will write something better and more inspiring and even the rocks will shout that Jesus is Lord and our Mighty God is with us, bringing the victory for us and ultimately for Him.

I just deleted it because I'm not going to start a family fued over politics, but what she obviously won't recognize is that I PRAY TOO! And I've been praying for the exact opposite of her!

7. And why would "an eloquent person of prayer"
..want to support a ticket made up of two people who can't speak a coherent sentence between the both of them?

9. Wellll......she also had very nice words of admiration for Shrub
in that email, and how terrible the people are who berate such a good man!!!!!

The funny thing is, she and her family are really NOT religious nuts! They're just lifelong Pubs and are unwilling to even consider that a Dem could ever be any good at anything.

10. LOL! This reminded me of a question my son asked:
"Mom, do robbers pray that they don't get caught"? A McCain supporter told me the other day, that if people just prayed for what was best for the country....Do they really think that Obama supporters don't pray?
