You’re Doing It Wrong.
A person is and should be free to believe whatever they would like to believe, with as little or as much proof as they desire. But they should not be free to take un-examined and un-thought-out beliefs that discriminate against others, or ignore evidence, and foist those beliefs upon the rest.

There is a taboo in this country against challenging anyone’s beliefs or religion. But when those beliefs step out of realm of the individual and encroach on other’s freedoms, then challenging them is exactly what is needed.

If you believe against all evidence, that dinosaurs roamed the earth with humans, you are free to do so; but you are not free to change the definition of science and push your religion as undeniable truth.

If you pick and choose quotes from the Bible that allows you to treat one group as less than your group; you don’t understand the meaning of “Do unto others.”

If your religion tells you that there are groups who don’t deserve the same rights as you do; you’re doing religion wrong.

If you blame your fanatical devotion to discrimination on God, you’re doing it wrong. A person’s God says more about that person than it does about their chosen holy book. Ideally, a God should be better than the people worshiping him/her.

So, when a person decides they’re going use their religion to make laws that discriminates against gays or other groups, no one should allow that to stand. They should not be able to take their own imperfections and bigotries, deify them, and pretend they stand for a greater good. - They don’t.

4. Your rights begin where my rights end. It's all a balancing act and we should always keep this in
mind.

the twain shall meet. And I have proof.

13. I agree...
as an atheist I must say, I wish every christian lived up to (or at least tried to) the ideals taught in the New Testament (revelations excepted). If most christians were more christ-like, the world would be a better place.
