I went Thursday night to the Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Florida. One of the highlights of this event is "Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure." Yep, the old movie has become a regular feature, usually making fun of current movies and celebrities.
This year's had a "debate" between two lookalikes for McCain and Obama. "McCain" was universally booed by the audience, predominantly young adults. "Obama" was cheered to the rafters.
"McCain" said, "I'm ready to lead on day one!" "Obama" said, "I'll be ready to lead on day one, and on day two, you'll be dead of a heart attack!" That line got cheers, too.
It wasn't a major part of the show - it was called the "preshow" before the main event, with Hellboy helping Bill and Ted against various movie villains including The Joker and Sweeney Todd - but it got the audience going. And it indicates where the hearts and minds of most young Floridians are.
