I just saw W and had a revelation...
I just came back from seeing W, and it finally hit me...WHY we are not in the streets protesting the WAR IN IRAQ...It's like no one even knows we're at WAR, or even cares.

In the movie, there is a moment where W calls for a blackout of media coverage of war casualties, and Cheney seconds that, saying,--no coverage of soldiers' funerals either.

I sat there watching footage of the war in Iraq that Stone put in the movie, and it made me remember that this is the type of footage we watched EVERY NIGHT on the 6 o'clock news during the Vietnam War.

The media has been completely COMPLICIT in perpetrating this criminal war, and we have been so brainwashed and manipulated.

So, what do you think will happen with the reporting of the war when Obama takes office?

2. Yup, so true about the GOP-controlled media.
Once Obama is in office, the GOP-controlled media will open the flood gates on war reporting, the freepers will proclaim that the Obama presidency caused all the violence.

And, the GOP-controlled media will finally start using the words "recession" and "depression" after Obama is elected, thus allowing the freepers to blame him for that as well.

The sheep are really easy to lead around.

5. I can see that happening too...
Obama getting all the blame...the escalation in violence, etc. when (if) the media finally tells the truth about what is going on in Iraq.

11. I always try to call them by their real name: GOP-controlled media.
That way I don't forget there's no way they'll tell the truth.

They're only concerned with propaganda that benefits their patrons.

3. the media have been OWNED by conservatives for decades --
as has, apparently, most of Congress, including most Dems.

Obama's election alone will do nothing to change that.

What's needed is a Sherman-like Anti-Intellectual-Trust Act for media: the kind of consolidation of media ownership we've seen during the last several decades MUST be made illegal.

Among other things.

9. It's been around for awhile now
A few years ago, I discovered the site when I was looking for information on IEDs. Insurgents post videos of their attacks on American soldiers in Iraq almost daily. It's so sad that we are not made more aware of the horror that our soldiers are dealing with every day.

Sadly, I can also understand the position of the insurgents, trying to defend their own country. We don't belong there...NEVER DID.

12. I've been at literally hundreds of peace rallys...
since 2003. There is always room for more attendees. The one I have attended is in Providence, RI, every Saturday at noon, by the courthouse on South Main St. I bet there's one in your town, or within driving distance. Funny, the media doesn't show up much.
