Franken Now Ahead Of Coleman, But Not By Much. Please Help If You Can

Looks like Paul Wellstone's replacement if pulling 15-18% of the vote, with only $100,000. I wonder if he really wants the guy who called himself "99% better than Wellstone" to win?

"Further complicating the race is the recent addition of third-party candidate Dean Barkley, who filled out the last two months of Wellstone's term. Barkley announced he was running in July and won the Independence Party primary in September.

Unlike his rivals, Barkley has raised a mere $100,000. But polls have shown him consistently holding 15% to 18% of the vote in a tight, seesaw race. Most recent polls have given Franken a slight edge, but both he and Coleman have seen their numbers fluctuate between the mid-30s and low 40s.

"I take this as a sign that Minnesotans aren't happy with either choice," said Barkley, 58. "Whether or not voters are willing to send a clear message to Washington by picking me . . . at least I can say I tried."

7. Kick to help kick the turd Coleman's ass to the curb.
Good luck finding work, buddy.

There's no comparison. Paul Wellstone worked every day in office to make life better for ALL Americans.

8. Is Barkley taking away votes from Franken or is he taking them away from Coleman?

9. He is pulling from both candidates, I think it is pretty split.
Unfortunately there are a lot of Democrats going to Barkley, but he is also pulling a good number from Coleman to offset them. He was a top adviser to Jesse Ventura, so he gets a lot of the independents that tend to be a bit more conservative but also a fair number of Democrats who are not pleased with Franken.

12. Please, everyone, don't hate me for saying what comes from pure common sense...
With only 11 days left until the election, why does Obama's campaign need all of the $125,000 for which DU is still striving to meet? Obama's campaign chest is already adequate, is it not? Why not help those campaigns, such as Franken's, overtake the more problematic incumbents that we've particularly despised & would like to see ousted? As we've learned from the past 8 years of lock-step rubberstamp voting for deplorable policies, the Senate campaigns have proven to be just as important to us as the presidential one.

Just my two cents' worth.
