Thousands line up for Obama rally, gates open 45 minutes early

Security has decided to open the gates at Civic Center park 45 minutes early as the line to see Barack Obama's rally snakes around the park and down Colfax Ave.

Gates were scheduled to open at 10 a.m., but there are several thousand people in a line that goes from 14th St. to Broadway, up Broadway to Colfax and west on Colfax for a couple blocks.

The crowd is being moved through several metal detectors at the Greek Theater.

The Democratic candidate for president has two rallies in the area today. The Civic Center program is scheduled to begin at 11:30 a.m. He then moves to Colorado State for an event at 3:30 p.m.

McCain and Palin aren't enjoying nearly the same response.

The decision to hold the Democratic Convention in Denver is looking pretty good long about now.

If people are willing to wait so long to see him, thye wont mind waiting to vote.
