LynneSin posted this in the D.C. forum, but it's not getting any recommendations, so I thought I would post it here for more exposure.

2. Please, PLEASE, someone ask Jane Fonda NOT to speak. Jesse Jackson too.

They're old hat, and Jane Fonda is tarnished ever since she got on that anti-aircraft gun in North Vietnam. I know liberal vets that HATE her.

This list looks like the same people who spoke at the rallies three years ago.

GET NEW PEOPLE!!!!

Where's Tammy Duckworth?

always wrong about everything, who cares what they think?

It takes eccentric people to actually speak out against government policy at these rallies, it's always been that way & always will. If you are waiting for mainstream shits to stick their necks out, you will be waiting a long time.

7. From where? The mainstream guys are shit scared of all of this.
Edited on Fri Jan-26-07 12:08 AM by The_Casual_Observer
They are all about "supporting the troops".

The Vietnam War protests weren't attended/organized by mainstream people, they were inconvenient offensive people too. This isn't a popularity contest or entertainment.

6. I dont get why
vets hated Fonda when they were the ones murdering Vietnamese civilians? We shouldn't have been there to begin with and soldiers should follow their concience and refuse to fight immoral wars.

8. Easier said than done for the poor kids that got drafted while the rich hid in college.
And, no, all Vietnam vets weren't babykillers.

9. I understand that there was a draft
but why not disobey. Just as people can't say "the devil made me do it", I dont believe we should be able to say "the government made me do it" either. I would rather sit in prison than go to Iraq and kill any Iraqi. They have done nothing to me and I never asked for this. They are no threat to us. It would be a cold day in hell before I killed someone to make Dick Cheney richer jsut because the government told me it was okay to do it. That wouldn't clear my concience.
