Doesn't Iran in fact want good relations with US and for us not to bomb them and steal their oil?
Isn't that pretty much what they are looking for here?
Or do I have this wrong?
I can remember when discussing this was kind of senseless back when The Republicans were running the show and it was like beating our heads up against the wall but now it seems kind of pertinent.
We could buy the oil for half the price of bombing them and stealing it from them. However, some people would lose a lot of money if we did it any other way.
4. Telling Iran or N. Korea not to develop nukes always seemed illogical to me
I mean, look at Iran for example... they've watched what we did in the Gulf War and later in Operation Iraqi Freedom. I'd imagine they'd want to protect themselves from the US. What better way to do that then develop nukes? If the current administration would realize that and talk to them like the human beings they are, we may not be in the mess we're in right now in the Middle East.
