8. Quick! Make a run to Wal Mart.
Then, take the rabbit to Olive Garden to roll it in corn flakes and make fried rabbit. You can ask them to play Laura Branigan for you while you eat the rabbit and breast feed a hyper four year old and drink a box of wine while you look at pictures of Carrot Top. But remember, don't tutch the but.

21. Oh, not good.
I got one with my 1986 S-15 way back when. In my area of Ohio it is actually rare to know of a driver that has not gotten at least one deer with their bumper. Many drivers have more than one on their tally.

34. Now, that's a real hunter. Good for him!
We're getting venison this fall from where my stepdad works. It's a research facility through Michigan State, and the deer are eating all of the research crops, so they're bringing in sharpshooters who've gone through training and all. I wish I could get more than one.

36. A "row"? I think an argument about hunting can only be called a 'row'
when the hunting in question involves foxes, beagles, and funny-looking top-hats. Dissension about rabbit hunting is more properly referred to as a 'dust-up', 'pissing-match', or perhaps a 'rumble.'

;)

if things go like I think they're going to go, you'll need those bunnies for your year's meat supply.

I think there's an economic shitstorm coming - Obama or not - and rabbit and rice will be a holiday meal.

there aren't all that many rabits around here- due in great part to cats and coyotes- but the ones that do survive can wreak havoc on a vegetable garden.

37. The rabbits up here around my cabin an go two out of three
with most cats and come out on top. These are not bunnies, these are two foot high, long eared, big-footed frickin' RABBITS. Song dogs are a different story, of course, but cats only make that mistake once.

39. around here, we mostly have bunnies...
and some of them just don't do a very good job of hiding their young, and that's where the cats can do some harm to the population.

46. Song Dog = Coyote
A few weeks ago I was coming slowly to consciousness as the light began to grow. My bed is next to a window that's open, to some extent or another, every night of the year. At that point it was wide open; I could have been sleeping outside. A pack of coyote must have been headed home after a long night and decided to stop and talk about it right outside the cabin. My heart came back to a normal beating pace about 10:00 AM :-).

Watching coyotes hunt mice in the winter is pretty funny. They can smell the mice through the snow as they tunnel underneath. The coyote paces along with his nose just off the snow. When he smells one he jumps straight up and comes down nose first and augers into the snow, more often than not coming up with the mouse. Snap, snap, and on to the next mouse.

Wolves are more majestic, but coyote deserve respect.

47. Cool, thanks.
I hear coyotes near me, but I've only ever seen one.

My dog, a husky mix, exhibits the same pouncing behavior in the snow, but she never catches anything. Must be instinctual.
