Do you remember what CNN was like before Ted sold?
Much better if I recall.

They had Larry King and "Crossfire," but they also had a great newscast.

Remember the team of Lou Waters and Susan Rook? They were great! So much news!

It was only later we would know Susan was a crackhead.

Remember when they had those international correspondents? Where is Christiane?

2. That was when they covered NEWS
instead of fluff pieces, missing blond teenagers and being shills for the repukes.

8. "And maybe a little less pervert of the day,"
said Turner. "I mean, there's a lot of perversion around, I know that, but is it really news? I mean, some of it is. I guess you've got to cover Michael Jackson, but not three stories about perversion at the lead of every half-hour."

5. I watched CNN religiously in those days
They've pretty much been the pits lately - and by "lately", I mean in the last 10 years. :(

6. At one time I wouldn't even stay at a hotel that didn't have CNN
Those days are long gone. First I stopped watching morning news, then Sunday news programs, now hardly ever, with the execption of Nov. 4th 2008 election. They seemed to be the best

7. I used to watch "Crossfire" and "Lou Dobbs" daily in the 1990s.
That was when both shows were very good.

Crossfire had actual equal liberal and conservatives arguing topics of the day.

Lou Dobbs focused almost entirely on Wall Street and finance. Only during the Bush Administration has he switched to being all anti-immigrants, all the time.

11. Plus Bernard Shaw
What they did in response to the challenge of Fox News is a travesty.

12. I canceled cable after a month of 24/7 Waco, with no useful commentary whatsoever.
And CNN was there to lovingly rotate every murderously insane moment. It was obscene and that was more than 10 years ago.

13. I remember what the Braves were like before Ted sold them
Okay I am only remembering the good times at the end.

Oh what would have happened if Ted and Steinbrenner got in a bidding war/peeing match year after year after year
