4. It hardly seems reasonable to ask someone to link to something that is no longer there

5. Don't have a link, read it in the gungeon and searched change.gov.
What would you get in a tizzy about?

17. I wouldn't get in a tizzy but some would.
You said "permanent assault weapons ban language removed from change.gov", which is bound to excite some proponents of assault weapons ban. You then said "President Elect Obama continues to move to the right on controversial issues", which is bound to excite others. I agree with slackmaster, I don't think moving away from language of permanence on this issue is a move to the right. But even if it was it should come as no surprise given Obama's desire to be less partisan and more productive.

2. I don't view getting away from useless restrictions on liberty as a move to the right
Edited on Tue Nov-11-08 08:21 PM by slackmaster
It's a move away from knee-jerk authoritarian measures toward personal freedom, and will free up the President and Congress to work on more important matters like foreign policy, energy, environment, health care, education, etc.

I'm going to give them a while yet before I take that site as the totality of their agenda.

24. I saved a smallmouth bass once with a bluegill in it's mouth just like that.
We had to net it, pull the bluegill out and revive the smallmouth before releasing it. It's amazing that a fish would try to eat something that big.

My mom was an artist some of your work has a similar feel. My only point that is has been removed maybe they are just rewriting it to put it back in. Just didn't think the discussion only belong in the gungeon.

36. Was that striper trying to swallow a menhaden? I can't tell what the choker is.
The biggest striper on record at Kerr lake in N.C. was a floater that was 33lbs plus and had an eight or ten pound carp stuck in its craw.

Talk about biting off more than you can chew.

15. This would be a move to the smart, IMO -
Because I am a smart Democrat, I have owned my "assault weapons" for years now. I didn't wait to buy them after the election - at inflated prices - with the RW's.

18. Desperate and poor attempt. His website is constantly going to change
to reflect priorities. And just because it's off his website doesn't mean he's changed his position. Oh, and this is NOT a priority and definitely shouldn't be. There are much, much more pressing matters.

29. Good.
The "Assault Weapons" ban was terribly written.

I'm all for common sense regulations that do help promote public safety and reduce homicides, but this mess that regulated cosmetic features on firearms and magazine capacities and such did little for public safety while being highly obnoxious to hunters, sportsmen, collectors, other law-abiding gun owners.

The background check was the one part of the Brady Bill that didn't expire, and it was also the one part that actually makes sense.

35. The agendas have been gone for a few days.
The entire agenda portion of the site, except for a few sentences, has been removed.

From: http://voices.washingtonpost.com/the-trail/2008/11/10/obama_agenda_temporarily_off_c.html :

President-elect Barack Obama's transition team deleted from its www.change.gov Web site lengthy policy statements of how the new administration would handle some two dozen agenda topics from foreign policy to taxes to energy.

The policy statements, which had mirrored those on Obama's campaign Web site, were replaced on the transition site with a paragraph saying the new administration "has a comprehensive and detailed agenda to carry out its policies.

Is that what you're talking about, or was the AWB statement removed before the agendas disappeared?

It sounds like that portion of the web site wasn't quite ready for prime time.

39. Move to center? Move to the right? Nope.
Abandoning the ill conceived assault weapons would be a step in the right direction but not to the right of the political spectrum. It is the ban its self that is Reich Wing/authoritarian. Democrats are generally stupid, dumb, and wrong on this one.
