Republican hatefest is making me ill. Look at these comments to news about California wildfires.

Here's the headline I read:

And here's just one of the Rethug comments in response to this story about a natural disaster:

Now excuse me while I go vomit. I'm really having trouble staying optimistic about our future when I see what the continuing hatefest from Rush, Hannity & Palin etc. is doing to our country. What can we do to counter this? I don't think we can just ignore it & think it will go away.

the Democrats are the builders in our country and the repubs are the spoilers. The Democrats try to get things that are needed to help Americans and the repubs try to take everything away and tear down what the Democrats succeed at. I hope the Democrats stay in power for many many years. Long enough for children to see how well things are for them under the Democrats and will keep voting them in when they are old enough to vote. repubs keep saying they stand for freedom, but yet they want to tell women what they can and cannot do with their own bodies, and they want to dictate who can get married and dictate what a family is. Now that the Democrats are in the majority, the repubs should just sit back, shut up, and learn how a government should really be run.

What an ironic line, coming from a supposed patriot. I've always pictured violence as the hallmark of a dictatorship, not a democracy.

I've always liked this Samuel Johnson quote: "Patriotism is the last refuge of a scoundrel."

and I think I really need to get a job as soon as possible. As much as I don't want to, I really think a nice 20" barreled shotgun, modded for tactical application and with an extended tube and a bandolier, might just be prudent. I would hate to go through getting a handgun in NJ as well. It's just a major pain in the ass, and I know for a fact it increases police suspicion here.
