Latest Republican meme going around

Bipartisanship. Yup, now that the 'Pug are in the minority, the RW echo chamber has cranked out bipartisanship as the latest point to drive home. From Bush to CNN to Rush to NPR, all of the usual suspects are now running the meme that the best thing that could be done for this country is for Congress to enter into a spirit of bipartisanship. Of course the RW's version of bipartisanship means that Congress should continue to rubberstamp Bushboy's every little whim.

Sad and pathetic to hear this whining from the right. When the 'Pugs were in power, bipartisanship wasn't even considered, and if they were still in power there would be none of this talk we're having now. Frankly I say screw 'em. It was a decidedly unbipartisan Republican majority that was instrumental in getting us into this mess, it is going to take an equally unbipartisan Democratic majority to get us out.

So I wouldn't even give it the time of day. They are going to have to demonstrate some practical understanding of bipartisanship from their end before they can expect any such consideration from the rest of the world.

Almost the whole country wants to get out of Iraq, except for DC politicians who talk surge or caps.

No one said on November 7th that we want bi-partisanship, except for DC politicians.

Congresscritters are sooo out of the loop.

I think the DEMS are more then willing to work with them as long as they learn to play by the rules. Is that too much to ask?

This constant level of boiling hate accomplishes nothing.

Anyone who thinks they have the one and only solution to problems or a unique template for America's future is absolutely as full of shit as Rush Limbaugh.

They've still got their list of things Junior expects them to do in the Senate. Their strategy is to attach wish list items to bills that are introduced by the Democratic majority and filibuster the main bill if Democrats try to stop them. They did it with ethics reform (line item veto for Junior) and they're doing it with the minimum wage bill (line item veto again - thankfully voted down - and even more tax cuts for business). And they'll do the same thing with the next legislation that is brought up in the Senate.

All the time they are preaching bipartisanship but you never heard that from them until last November. Even Newt Gingrich has the guts to say in public that Democrats should now make nice with Republicans. What a hypocrite!

If being bipartisan means we have to support the same type of right wing extremist legislation that has brought us over the last 6 years to where we are, then I wish we would seriously examine alternatives.
