Media Needs to Shine a light on the ugliness of hate in all of its manifestations

This isn't my original idea, I got it here from a post on DU, can't recall when or where. But the idea got into my brain and it won't go away.

Shine a light on Generic Un-American Hate, period.

RW radio hate, Race-haters, GLBT haters, Muslim haters, whatever. All of it. The common denominator.

The ugliness of Hate itself.

2. Aw jeez, I wouldn't want to see that.

But maybe it can become a fad.. a cause.. a call to our better selves. They ought to try it, it just might affect their ratings in a positive way.

6. It's good that stuff gets reported, but more is needed. The Beast needs to be named.

The very phenomenon of hate, the minority of people in this country who choose and use hate... this needs to be illuminated. Just like shining a light on roaches. No judgement is needed, just the light, so everybody can see clearly. Hate is just not cool, not beautiful, not American.
