Edited on Fri Jan-26-07 09:14 AM by Patsy Stone
Went to see al-Maliki.

Rick Sanchez just mentioned this, but there's no link. Anyone have more info? I didn't see a thread.

22. If I had to pick a House Member to
take along for such a "dangerous" trip.....Murtha would be my first pick.

4. Lots of senators have been there over the past 3 years.
Going there doesn't necessarily mean much. However, she does have more power than others being our number 3 in power.

9. Yes, but it's far more dangerous now.
Edited on Fri Jan-26-07 09:21 AM by Divernan
It is far more dangerous in Baghdad now than it was when Bush, Chaney, Rice, Rumsfeld or any of the others were there. There's been a lot of speculation that that recent rocket attack on the chopper full of high-ranking US military could have been the result of a leak. How are VIPs traveling from the airport to the Green Zone now? Do they avoid the Highway of Death to helicopter in? I hope she gets the hell out of there ASAP.

On edit: The military brass know that she is key to getting them and their troops out of there sooner than Bush would choose to do. It is in their self-interest to protect her, but the chaos there is so overwhelming that it is impossible for them to guarantee anyone's safe visit.

5. I knew she had a scheduled trip to Iraq, but I didn't know it was this week...
Edited on Fri Jan-26-07 09:06 AM by marmar
Hopefully, BushCo doesn't get any ideas - like an unfortunate IED incident near her convoy. With this group, you never know. :tinfoilhat:

27. Her and General Clark would be the ticket, now wouldn't it
either one as the President would be good, they would be a good team. He with all his military experience and Her with her Big Brass O's, take no prisioners approach

24. Cheney might be more dangerous to his own squad than the enemy.
Let's see, is that a seven ounce bird or a 180 lb. man? Better shoot it just to be sure.
