Just a thought...

But maybe there is a plan to do away with the Department of Homeland Security, patriot act and revamp all of it into a less draconion set of organizations. The byproduct of which would be the Committee on Homeland Security (Lieberman's committee chair) would just evaporate out from under him. Making something happen can be passive as well as active.

listen to their constituency or act like Democrats, it would be much easier to give them
that benefit of the doubt.

Obama wants to put away 'cynicism' and then they go and have a SECRET vote that seems more
a protection against the outrage of their constiuency than the excuses you or they are submitting,
and well....it's probably still a pretty good rule of thumb to watch what they do rather
than listen to what they say. Slogans and explanations are a dime a dozen.

Not a very effective method for building trust, in any case.
