HEADLINE: "Iraqis see hope drain away"
39% say things are good in their lives
35% expect things to get better this year
Only 54% have a steady supply of electricity
Only 42% have clean water available
95% in Baghdad do not send their children to school, 100% avoid travel, going to work or applying for work, avoid markets.
A majority now say life was BETTER under Saddam.
A doctor: "No hope for the medical practice"
A student: "Excited about the future - in Syria"
A Teacher: "They talk about the bodies that they see in the street ..."
A Shopkeeper: "Under a thousand threats"

And George W. Bush: "I think the Iraqi people owe the American people a huge debt of gratitude" 1/15/07

That is what the corporate media wants you to believe. But somehow they have not convinced the people they are supposedly helping.
