How come non of these Fools on the Hill are DEMANDING PAULSONS HEAD?
It's surreal, watching all the morning shows...one "expert" after another talks about the Paulson Switcheroo, the Paulson money pit doing nothing, that we've been hosed, that there is NO TRANSPARENCY. "We can't just give money to Detroit without some sort of accountability and transparency. We can't have another situation like the $700,000,000,000 to Paulson.

Yet not a single person is talking about revisiting the Paulson bailout, possibly reigning him in, maybe putting a moratorium on any releases until we get some accountability. I mean, the money is only HALF SPENT, and while all these congress critters prattle on about how they were hoodwinked, not a single one of them has proposed to do ANYTHING to stop it from going any further. It's freakin' crazy.

Oh, but those damned union workers, they're bilking us dry! Let our manufacturing base fail! Throw people out of their homes! The final chapter in Bush's destruction of the economy...if only it were the final chapter.

1. There has been little accountability during the last 8 years.
Why change now?

2. Fear. Fear of Crying Fire in a Crowded Theater

Unfortunately, the theater IS on fire....and besides, then they'd have to go after Bush, and Nancy still hogs that table.

3. Because they gave him the money.
He made epic fools of all of them. They took the bait just like they did on Iraq. To admit one has been stupid is a mortal sin in the realm of politicians.

Now they're going to try to look smart by holding every one else's feet to the fire.

Oh, and of course the auto industry doesn't want to tell us a thing about how they're going to use our money. Walk into a bank and ask for a couple of hundred thousand and then tell the banker that it's really none of his business how you plan on spending it sometime. If they want our money, they should play by our rules.

6. The only reason I can think of right now is that it would be extremely difficult
to nominate somebody and get them confirmed before the inauguration, and somebody is needed in that post.

7. Atrophy of leadership
Our elected leaders in Congress have no leadership skills. Pelosi and Reid are completely absent of any skills of leadership. They are so weak. I see posts on here of how Reid is some great chess player but it is all in your head. They should never have been allowed to be where they are. We would be better off having the Senator and Congressmen with the largest majority of state votes be the leaders, not the who has been here the longest and is the most stuck in the play it safe world of needing to be elected again. Why is DU still relevant? Because we need to watch and discuss and push for removal of Dems that suck. We need to take them out in primaries and stay involved in our democratic process. Learn from the follies of the past and replace anyone that has a whiff of zero passion to help the American people.

8. They're All In The Same Circle Jerk...Clueless
Look who he corporate media turns to for their "advice" and "anal-ysis"...and weigh it in their previous roles. Many current economic critics and concern trolls were some of the biggest shills for the market and the many get-rich quick schemes that blew a hole in the economy. Many earned their "spurs" by being "money honeys" and cheerleaders for the go-go days...pimping stocks and funds and painting the financial world as the golden world. No one questioned how "creative financing" and hedge funds and day trading and short selling were anything but how people made money. These people never considered a downside...nor do they have a clue now.

Klink Paulsen is doing for the Treasury what Mukasey is doing at Justice as are dozens of other booosh regime aparachniks...burying the bodies and making one final fleece. I found it quite "convenient" how this crisis came about as McCain's campaign began to crater and the fat cats saw that Obama could win and their days of running amok could be over. They had their man, Paulsen, create the crisis and the "remedy"...and a blank check at that. There are billions we still have no clue where they've gone...and the money earmarked for consumer relief went for naught. His game is to play the magician...now you see it, now you don't.

This regime knows the corporate media is lazy...they prefer to be handed a story or to speculate than to follow the money. It also makes it easier for those who are conflicted to pretend the past never happened.

Cheers...

11. Because Paulson is doing exactly what is
allowed under the law that these IDIOTS read and voted for! That includes all 3 Senators that were running for higher office.

He is doing nothing illegal, and these fools empowered him.
