Why are they afraid to utter the words? Bush and Cheney must resign immediately
Over the past few years we have heard calls for several members of the Bush Administration to resign. Our leaders boldly stood up and called resignation of people like Porter Goss, Michael Brown, several Pentagon officials who involved in the Walter Reed scandal, they even went out on a limb and called Donald Rumsfeld's resignation and now they are calling for Alberto Gonzalez to step down.

But there are two names that have been behind every single one of the scandals of this administration and I have yet to hear a single member of Congress call for their resignations. I am talking of course about George Bush and Dick Cheney.

I don't know that there two individuals in this nation's history who have done damage than these two have. First they stole an election by disenfranchising black voters. After they were able to illegally steal the Presidency they set up an energy task force whose members were secret. We know very little about what happened during the meetings of this task force, but we do know that they were drawing up maps showing us exactly where Iraq's oil was located.

And then 9/11 came, they knew it was coming they had received numerous warnings. One memo even said "Bin Laden determined to strike in US", Bush responded to that memo by clearing brush on his ranch. When we were struck he was not one surprised, he just went about his business reading "My Pet Goat" until the camera's turned on him and then all of a sudden the crocodile tears flowed out.

"Our freedom is under attack" he told us, and that was one of the few times he was telling truth. Yes, our freedom was under attack it was under attack by the people who drafted up the Patriot Act. It was under attack by those who wanted to detain people without access to a lawyer, it was under attack by those who wanted torture, and it was under attack by those who wanted to send hundreds of thousands of young men and women off to attack a country which posed no threat to us.

And so they lied to us, they told us that Iraq had Weapons of Mass Destruction and ties to Al Qaeda and the lapdog media allowed them to repeat these lies repeatedly. So we went to war, and as a result over 650,000 civilians have been killed with more dying every single day.

Lies that resulted in over 650,000 dead bodies should be more than enough justification to call for the resignation of George Bush and Dick Cheney, but their crimes do not stop there. They outed the identity of an undercover CIA operative, they fired US attorneys for purely political reasons, they illegally monitored the phone calls of basically every American who did not get their service through Qwest, and they gave multi-billion dollar contracts to their corporate buddies despite the fact that they knew their friends were ripping off the American people.

I want to see Alberto Gonzalez gone as bad as anybody does, but if he is just going to be replaced by another Bush toady his departure will ultimately not make much of a difference. It is time to go after those at the very top and bring this administration down.

I want our members of Congress to call on George Bush and Dick Cheney resign now. Sure they will refuse, but let us put them on the defensive. Make them get in front of the cameras and explain themselves, and when they can't explain themselves well then impeachment is back on the table.

The Republicans had no problem calling on Clinton to resign for much lesser crimes, why the Democrats are afraid to call for Bush's resignation is beyond me. I want accountability, and I want it now.
