22. I haven't gone through all of the documents (obviously), but these are public servants.
Board members, city council members, and other elected officials/government employees usually have their email and physical addresses along with telephone numbers listed in a directory. If this were a national security issue, I might feel different, but so far I don't see anything wrong with having the email addresses and ph #s made public. They should be.

From http://judiciary.house.gov/media/pdfs/DOJDocsPt1-3070319.pdf. See p. 25, bottom:

Email from Miers to Sampson:

"Kyle, any current thinking on holdover U.S. Attornesy? Any recent word on (clearly whited out)'s intentions?"

Whose intentions? Whose name did they white out? Can they do that in subpoena'd documents? Can't the committee just subpoena the electronic copy?

that resulted in indictments and trials that targeted democrats and overlooked republicans.

Wonder how that USA has ranked.

I can't wait until they release the full version of the list.

41. It's been going on as long as they have held the executive branch
Here's a book to read Blocking the Courthouse Door: How the Republican Party and Its Corporate Allies Are Taking Away Your Right to Sue it should be read by all the members of congress and their staff involved in this investigation.

BTW - the 8 that were dismissed, which states were they from, do you have a list?

:pals:

24. The Carol Lam issue is most disturbing in what I've glanced over so far.
I notice in one of the memos sent to Alberto Gonzales by a Republican congressman, there are several signatures at the bottom, including "Duke" Cunningham.

It's criminal what they did to her. Not only the AG, but these rogue, manipulative and power-hungry Congresscritters need to be held accountable for trying to exert pressure on federal prosecutors and force them to abandon their own prosecutorial judgment in favor of catering to the whims of the Republicans.

Sickening. These thugs simply make me sick.

28. I am positive these emails are only the safe ones. There is NO discussion
in these emilas of firing the attorneys. There are letters from Issa, etc. as if it were a legal argument for firing carol lam. You KNOW there are many many more emails they hid. They do mention "lets talk about it on the phone a lot though." And I read today that gonzalez does not use email ever.

29. At the risk of becoming a crashing bore...
There is already one "off the record" mail server known, at the RNC. I fully expect that there are others. What someone needs to do is get their hands on the outbound TCP/IP connection logs from their border routers or proxy servers or something like that, load them into a database and start crunching them.

If you can find clandestine email servers, that were used to get around the White House and DoJ email retention policies, you will have found The Eldorado.

These guys were all about compromising systems and policies. You can bet your bottom dollar they tried, and probably succeeded at, compromising IT systems and policies.
