Maybe I'm just tired of this shit, but I was watching the local KC PBS station tonight and between programming they show short blurbs from local 'supporters' (everyone else calls them sponsors, but whatever).

Anyway, they showed this cartoonish promo from The Roasterie, a local coffee roasting company. It opens with two cartoon hands hoisting coffee cups. One bemoans his workload. The other tells him about the exciting new Roasterie coffee they're drinking. "it's fruity..." the guys says to his friend, or coworker, or whoever he's supposed to be, "just like your shirt!" Then he erupts into derisive laughter.

You know, if I attended right-wing events I'd expect slurs like 'faggot' to be thrown around. I don't really expect a slur like 'fruity' to come through my set when I'm watching PBS and I didn't expect to be treated to it by a local company.

Maybe Coultergeist has opened the gates...gay slurs are now used as a marketing tool.
