some thoughs on the aniversary

note, this was written tonight in the stream of consciousness style, as I waited for an installation to finish loading on my laptop

So here I seat, in a coffee shop, listening to the sound from shock and awe over the radio, waiting for an application to load. I said to myself, I will be going to the vigil. I need to wait for this to finish installing...

What is grating to my soul is that here I seat, my life is normal, so I think. A couple is playfully doing what young couples do. Yet, that sound was the beginning of a nightmare that most seem not to notice. Most do not care, or so it seems to me.

So here I seat...waiting for a damn computer program to install... while bombs explode in my earphones and the images of that horrible night come back to me. Here I am thinking of my husband, who is tonight working safely, but six years ago was "downrange" sending some of that shock and awe, because he got orders, from a madman. Yes, that will be the judgment of history. The President of the United States, George, W Bush is a madman, a megalomaniac and a crazy man.

There are some who will blame my husband for this. Yet ultimately we are all guilty...and in the end all that blood, both allied and enemy, whatever the hell that means, for all the blood spilled. We were unable to stop that madman, and we have yet to stop him.
