Anybody watching the House Judiciary hearings on CSPAN3?
Its about the FBI security letters. Even Sensebrenner was going after them.

1. Yes! I had to laugh when the FBI was chastized for "sloppy work,
lack of proper training, and lack of direction"! The Rep. asking the questions said "THIS IS THE FBI!" There's NO excuse!

8. I liked that and that he put it on the record...
...as a warning to what could happen! And IMO, if anyone is storying to them today, they should take that as a promise coming from him.

10. I was surprised they weren't
Been watching from the beginning. :hi: When Watt was questioning, the FBI General Counsel testified they have destroyed documents because of this investigation. Unfortunately, his time ran out just as he was really getting to the nitty-gritty about it.

9. If the phone records are critical...
...why not go to a judge and prove up the PC and get a signed warrant? It's NOT like the phone records are going to get up and walk away, right? So...what's the need to use a letter?

12. That seems like a standard thing to do with ANYTHING...
...retain a copy of it. Why the heck would they not do this...unless there was some reason to NOT do so. And the only reasons I can think of are BAD reasons.

Thanks them for their work? Yeah, right ~~ thank you for illegally spying on good Americans to get that WONDERFUL rate of success of 1 prosecution out of around 150K letters. What total BS!

Guess going after the FBI is a "popular" stance to take or Issa would not be doing this. He is a total POS in all other hearings.
