My photo essay - beginning with Obama in a turbin sign
Edited on Sat Nov-29-08 10:13 AM by proud2Blib
Went to Memphis for Thanksgiving. Ended up taking pictures of signs everywhere from KC to Memphis and back. So I decided to do a photo essay.

Be kind, I have never done this before. :)

West Plains, MO. Can't believe this sign is STILL up. Hey dicknead, the election is OVER! Oh and check out the dent at the bottom of the sign. Vandalism?

Now check out the house behind the sign. I think we can safely assume this is the guy's house who owns the billboard. I was expecting a trailer.

And on the property right next to the Obama sign:

And across the road is a church

Next stop - Memphis - and the neatest museum EVER! A must see in Memphis!

Across the street from the Stax museum

Beale Street signs

Took a road trip down to Clarksdale, MS, birthplace of the Delta Blues and home of the legendary Crossroads

At our hotel. The sign says MOTORCYCLES ARE NOT ALLOWED ON THE SIDEWALK. I asked this guy if I could take a picture and he said the hotel told him to park there.

Saved my favorite for last.

Figured 'OOO' means 'Out Of Order' but 'temporaly' is just spelled wrong.

5. Looks like a hell of a day trip, as you move out of the dark and into the light
People will quit hating in the years ahead, I'm certain. But it will take a while.

And in the meantime, there's music.

8. Very nice, I really enjoyed it
I haven't been down there in several years but it looks like it hasn't changed too much. The historic home of Memphis Slim is still scheduled for renovation I see. It's looking even worse, I seriously doubt anything will ever be done to that place. It looks like it's still the crack house that it was when I went by.

It must be early I couldn't figure out what OOO meant.

9. That house looked just like that 2 years ago, last time I was there
Found that kind of sad.

11. Well, speaking of 'temporaly', 'turbin' should be 'turban'. :^)
