1. That truly is insulting.
Without the need of a transcript!!?? There can only be one purpose to doing so: to avoid any evidence for lying to Congress charges (which do not require being sworn under oath to be prosecuted for).

7. That is incredibly arrogant.
I hope Leahy tells Fred F. Fielding to go F himself.

Like always, the Bush Crime Family wants to negotiate their own favorable terms a day late and a dollar short, as if they are in any position to exert their will.

8. This is right in line with the law on Executive Privilege.
United States v. AT&T (1977) cite omitted, dealt with warrantless searches (some things never change!) and the House wanted some information about communications between the DoJ and AT&T. The DC Circuit Court held that "judicial intervention in executive privilege disputes between the political branches is improper unless there has been a good faith but unsuccessful effort at compromise" The Court went on to point out that there is a duty in the Constitution that the executive and Congress attempt to accomodate the needs of each other.

So I think that's where we are at at the moment. Each side has to cross their t's and dot their i's.
I would expect to see a very reasoned response to this letter from the Committee...maybe attached to the subpoenas. :-)

you should supeona the white house official to white house official documents.... this separation of powers bull shit has got to stop. WE THE PEPOLE via our congress have every right to oversee the executive branch.

11. They work for us
Both Congress and the POTUS need to get some R.E.S.P.E.C.T for the people that elect and pay them. They work for the people and not for protecting their own interests. This is especially true with this Presidency.
