Evidence that Al Franken now believes!
Here at his statement, http://blog.alfranken.com/2008/11/05/a-statement-from-al-franken/ is an interesting line,

Let me be clear: This race is too close to call, and we do not yet know who won. We are lucky enough to live in a state with built-in protections to ensure that in close elections like these, the will of the people is accurately reflected in the outcome.

"lucky enough to live in a state with built-in protections"

sounds like he is now a believer. :fistbump:

1. Too bad it took so much energy and so much money to cause him to open his eyes.
He needs to apologize to/for the people he dissed about Election Dysfunction!

8. Yes.. but there is a bit of useful irony in all of this...
If he does make it to the Senate, he can be an informed advocate on voting rights and reform. We need to hold his feet to the fire on the issue.

16. That's a good point... IF he will...... He seems to waffle a lot.
We must hold ALL their feet to the fire about everything!

3. Wasn't he one of the people who used his radio platform to poo-poo those
who were screaming election fraud in 00, 02 and 04?

7. I think he now believes, but isn't out of the believer closet.
It is a funny thing, when a comedian denies that something is possible. :silly:

9. I'm sure he didn't want to appear "kooky" for his impending Senate bid ...and to work w/Mike Malloy
I donated to Franken, but I thought his "conservative" stance (not political conservative, but smoking gun, innocent until proven guilty conservative stance) about the Ohio 2004 election / Diebold voting machines wasn't a good idea at the time.

Even Bill Maher was taken back at the numbers that were run after 2004 in Ohio, and he's Maher's not necessarily a Democrat.

But to follow up my subject, I STILL point the finger at Al Franken (again, I donated to his campaign) for having Mike Malloy fired from AAR.

Here's my reasoning:

Al was the AAR 'star' making 1 MILLION a year to Malloy's 100,000. But the DAY AFTER Malloy had a 9/11 conspiracy show, with no notice, he was given the boot for "budgetary reasons". Yeah, right. But who would have CARED enough to have him fired?

I remain convinced that Franken got wind of that show and realized that his future Senate bid which he was 'exploring' at the time, and which he left AAR to pursue, would be crippled for the guilt-by-association that may have resulted from his working 'side by side' with a '9/11 kook'.

I've since quit AAR and am now a NovaM subscriber.

10. I don't know if AAR exists anymore. I dropped off years ago.
Al's a politician now. Politicians do that kind of shit. As always though, the progressive liberal ranting into the darkness at midnight is vindicated.

11. It's still on with Sam Seder. I was listening to "IE America" when it was two cans and string...
It was March 2003. There were no WMD's in spite of them "knowing" where they were. I had to find someone out there to listen to and Thom Hartmann and Mike Malloy brought me in... To them I owe them my thanks.

I wish Sam Seder would move to NovaM...

18. Maron vs. Seder is the best show they've ever had.
The content and style is just incredibly addictive. I dropped off when Randi left, but Maron vs. Seder brought me back.

21. What has Malloy had to say about Franken's Senate bid...
and the whole recount? I've heard Randi's venom-laced comments, but I don't know that I have heard Malloy on the issue.

13. I've been told by other DU'ers that in the fall of '05 he
Started being kinder to the "election was stolen" crowd.

But when we initially needed him, he was down on us.

12. Umm....I think it is pretty fucking obvious that Minnesota has their shit together
Florida (in 2000) and Ohio (in 2004) obviously didn't know how to conduct a legal recount.

In Florida, some counties didn't even recount their ballots!

In Ohio, the 1% recount in some "punch-card" counties was tampered with.

Minnesota has same-day registration and consistently the highest voter turnout in the nation.

just sabotaged both of them.
