Illinois AG threatens to act soon against governor

CHICAGO (AP) — Illinois' attorney general is threatening to go to the state Supreme Court to have Gov. Rod Blagojevich declared unfit to hold office if he doesn't resign soon.

Attorney General Lisa Madigan told CNN on Thursday that she is prepared to take action. She says the best thing is for the governor to resign.

Blagojevich (bluh-GOY'-uh-vich) was arrested Tuesday on charges that he put President-elect Barack Obama's Senate seat up for sale. He reported to his work on Wednesday, ignoring calls for his resignation.

Madigan says she "won't wait terribly long."

Too bad Blago won't do what he should and resign...looks like we're gonna have to flush him out.

On Monday, the Illinois General Assembly will vote to strip Blago of his ability to name a successor to President Obama's Senate Seat, but that only addresses the immediate situation.

Impeachement, as I have pointed out when it came to booosh is not a quick process. It take months...like a trial. Evidence has to be presented, charges drawn and then both Houses have to act...the first to pass the articles, the other to vote on the actual impeachment. Yes, Blago can drag this process for months. It's a pisser since there was a non-binding referendum last Nov. 4th that would have made it easier to remove the shitstain (yes, if there's a vote to remove this goon, he would have lost it BEFORE this mess began).

Madigan is using what is the quickest route to take power away from this scumbag. The Supreme Court can rule that he's no competent to serve and remove him temporariliy pending the outcome of his legal actions. If he's cleared, then he can resume his "duties" and finish his term. I doubt that will happen.

The people in this state want this shit gone NOW...it's not a (D) or (R) thing, it's an Illinois thing.

He taints the entire political scene.

To me, in this case, there's a razor-fine line between mentally ill and flat-out crooked. Either way, he's pretty-clearly a sociopath...
