2. I've always thought they lived in a different reality.
Now I'm totally convinced. I've been reading over there for the last half hour. I'm totally befuddled. WTF.

3. Their tax dollars will pay the same or more if the companies fail
Only then it will be for food stamps, welfare, Medicaid, free school lunches and unemployment compensation.

4. Just when you think they can't get more stupid or self-destructive.
Woohoo, freeps! Everything you need to buy just got more expensive! Hope Mom can keep her house!

And the UAW didn't buy this election. Your champ McToast couldn't win it without divine intervention and God didn't like him, either.

23. Really. Unless the Freeps are a bunch of old-money billionaires,
they too will be swept away in the economic tsunami that is now inevitable. Like a real tsunami, this one won't distinguish between Democrats and Republicans.

5. I thought close to 50% of this country doesn't want a bailout after
the bank thing was such a washout. Maybe it's time to demand accountability for the bank bailout.

:grr:

16. Let's start by taking away pensions and health care for congress, since they think nobody else
should ask for them in this economy.

6. They should be. Democratic legislators are fucking useless.
No matter how large the minority, we're still fucked.

Amazing!

Hope the freepers enjoy the coming depression. :banghead:

14. I remember reading a few years back about the Auto companies being the backbone of our economy.
Obama said it too. What the hell are these people thinking?

25. Here's what they're "thinking"
One Freeper post:
"I have a brief message for the United Auto Workers:

You bought your LAST American presidency."

Another one:
"UAW can finally stop buying the democrats"

There you have it...they'd rather see the country go down the toilet, than give up their partisanship.

31. What *is* the "backbone of our economy" then?
Is there another industry that directly or indirectly provides jobs for so many Americans? Whatever it is, I guess that industry must be our "backbone". Hope it's doing OK!

Edited on Fri Dec-12-08 12:41 AM by Snarkoleptic
People arbitrarily chose sides without thinking about the real issues.
To the 'pukes', I'd say "Where's your no auto-bailout prize?".
(IMHO it will be delivered in the pain/suffering of a massive economic slowdown(read:depression)Thanks to the pugs for their narrowminded and taliban-like shortsightedness)
Voting along party/idealogical lines leads to decisions that are not well thought out.

24. I have no problem if the GOP
becomes a southern party. We can just have the other 75% of the country. Seriously, how stupid can the GOP be to publicly tell middle class workers "you make too much money"?

12. I wonder how many work in southern automotive plants?
The ones that their states, using their tax dollars, subsidized? I wonder how they'll like working for $2.00/hour if their Republican Senators are successful in breaking the US auto industry? Poor bastards can't look past their self-destructive political ideology to see they are celebrating their own demise.

13. Time was when "buy American" was the right-wing slogan
I'm so confused. Aren't these the folks who buy all those American cars anyway? I thought we liberals were the ones who drove Volvos and other such socialist vehicles. They drive the Chevy Tahoe pickup. (okay, that's probably wrong, but what do I know; I drive a Prius.)

During the Reagan years, there were no finer conservative bona fides than to tout one's patriotic duty to buy American. These people don't know what they believe in: except trying to oppose anything that might accrue to the benefit of (a) Democrats, and (b) labor (which used to be ... themselves).

I need a drink.

And yelling U.S.A.! U.S.A.! each and every time McSame spoke? Apparently, that doesn't pertain to cars that are made in the U.S.A.?

22. They're full of envy and hatred. They don't think the autoworkers deserve the wage and benefits that
they make. Even though most of those wusses would not survive a week on the line.

about Amurika. But save the Amurikan workers? Apparently not.

I wonder if even one of those intellectually challenged clowns knows the meaning of the word irony?
