I have an idea about how to rescue the American Auto Worker's Jobs.
Edited on Fri Dec-12-08 07:47 AM by Hubert Flottz
My idea is, that congress and the new president should not be fooled by the oil companies sudden drop in gasoline prices to try and get McCain elected in November and then their continued low gas prices after the election, because they're afraid now that the new democratic president and new democratic congress will investigate the gouging that has run wild under Bush's watch and call for a huge retroactive windfall tax on the oil companies. The democrats could then use that windfall tax money to stimulate the economy and bail out the unemployed.

I blame the unregulated oil companies record profiteering and the GOP's pay and play deals with the oil big companies for our current economic woes, far more than I blame the big three American Auto Makers.

Look how many billions in extra profit the big oil companies have been skimming off of us all, for the past eight years. This unregulated skimming has caused everything we have to buy to survive, to cost more.

4. Yes, then let's divide OUR money amongst ALL the American People.
I'd have enough cash to pay off loans and also start buying things again.

2. Not only that...
Before prices came down, when they were at $4+ a gallon, a lot of companies who were already hurting from the recession (that started last year) and the high gas prices at that time put even more financial strain on them. Some went out of business because they had a bunch of trucks, like one vending company here had to, others laid even more people off further pushing the country into deeper recession.

5. The GOPers know damned well it's ALL their fault...
The GOPers in Washington are all just like Bush...always trying to blame everyone for their stupidity and greed but themselves.

The GOP might bust the UAW, but they'll pay for it politically for years and years to come.

I'll never buy a scabmobile.

Prison in the Dry Tortugas or on Devil's Island with Bush and Cheney would be and even better place for Billy Bad Ass. Let the gnashing of tooth begin in freeperland!

Freepers can't ever unionize because they aren't smart enough to pass the piss test.

23. Every GOPer in Washington acts like they're on some bathtub LSD
The repubs may have escaped reality, but their sorry record is still going to be around for a long time to come. When Sarah and Mitt are their next best shots at the White House you have to wonder about the GOP's viability as a political force to ever be reckoned with again.

I believe the country would be better off if we'd outsource the GOP to Iran, North Korea or Mars or somewhere where other folks that act like GOPers might take a liking to guys like Mitch and Bob Corker and take them in.

And our country will learn the hard way that it's more expensive when workers do NOT get paid decent wages.
