The GOP has sealed their fate for years to come...
Reap what you sow...and the GOP has finally sealed their fate for the future. I predict that you will likely see the total disintegration of the Republican party over the next four to eight years. The changing demographics around the nation are not in their favor; the religious right is no longer taking the bait and switch; the true conservatives have abandoned the party; they have proven time and time again that they hate government and cannot govern; they do not want anything to do with bipartisanship and they have damaged this country economically and psychologically for a generation. The Democratic majority will only grow in 2010. Get ready for a veto proof majority in the House and the Senate in 2011.

Giving $700 billion to Wall Street and hosing the auto companies is the last nail in the GOP coffin - I thought it was Sarah Palin, but that was only the beginning of the end. See ya....

3. My husband says "boycott Republicans" would have more impact
than "boycott Alabama" (as if the state of AL is at fault here). I agree with him. We also think that Michigan will have a Democrat in the governor's office for a long time to come.

Fuck 'em. I hate those God damned Republican bastards.

6. You do realize they said the same thing
after Nixon's resignation, don't you? Six years later, Reagan became president.

Having said that, I think the Republican party will go through a transformation as I think, at some point, the religiously insane will split off from the Republican party and form their own Evangelical Party. That will leave the true conservatives which will make up the Republican party. Personally, I think that would be a PERFECT time for the progressives and old-style Democrats to break off from the Democratic Party and form their own party. That will leave the "New" Democrats/blue dogs/DLC/"centrists" to make up what is left of the Democratic Party. I just think it's the only way the progressives are going to get a seat at the table.

7. For sure they can write-off Michigan for decades.
I think they've calculated that as a regional party, their decision is perfectly congruent with their regional base. And the deeper trench-line they've dug will be used to perpetuate the South vs the North culture wars.

I expect them to gain the inevitable trenchfoot from their decision.

A more pathetic bunch of has rarely been known. Remember, they were the ones who rammed through the $700 B "save the Predator Class" bailout.

If the Rethugs find some fresh faces, we may have a big problem in a few years.

10. They're Still In Denial
The GOOP has become a fractional party...only white xtian males need apply or women who are subservient to them. It's maybe representative of 30% of the country and sinking...even lower when you go into any urban area or town where the IQ is higher than 50. They're locked into both a time warp and their own hypocrisies and running down the political drain as they become more and more irrelevant every day.

Thanks to georgie boooosh we now know for certain repugnican can't be trusted with our national security or with properly running a war. We have seen the ultimate "riches" of "trickle down" and the "less government is better" bullshit...it's a proven fact, GOOPers can't govern, only spew talking points fed to them by their corporate masters. And of course, we have seen how corrupt and inept they are...let them laugh about Blago, but it's the GOOP that has perfected felonious government and lost the trust of almost everyone. The ssving grace is a majority of Americans have woken up to these facts and their games, but they still don't see it.

I'm watching the Gingrinch on my teevee still hearlding his "Contract on America" as some sort of "savior" for the country without admitting how this "contract" is what has destroyed things. And he's one of the few in that corrupt party that is coherent...barely.

For those (Harry Reid) who are afraid of calling their bullshit, get out of the way. If they want to shut down the government or fillibuster popular bills or a very popular President, then let them go nuts. The more they try to revise history the worse it gets for them as that attitude just enforces how ignorant they are.

Sit back and enjoy the months ahead...the GOOP still hasn't realized how badly they lost...and continue to make the same mistakes...and any one who dares to make sense in that party doesn't stand a chance. The longer this goes on, the longer they remain in the hinterland...and that's not such a bad thing.

16. You should hear what they're saying on CNBC.
Some senator from TN is on (Corker?) and they are blaming everything on the Democrats who are, according to their spin, in the pockets of the big unions, and the greedy, overpaid workers. The Republicans have very powerful propagandists working 24/7.

and the masses will be bamboozled and the Repukes will reap the benefits from the lies ...
