The Republican Party is Anti-Business!
That is the message they sent, loud and clear, with their rejection of the Big Three Bailout. We need to trumpet this from the rooftop as the loss of the final tenet of Republicanism. Consider:

Republicans are now the party of Big Government. Observe the explosion in the size of government during the Bush Years (after eight years of Democratic-led shrinkage of government growth).

Republicans are now the party of government surveillance. They wiretap us, tell us what sort of healthcare we may or may not have, and have gutted the Bill of Rights.

Republicans are now the party of fiscal irresponsibility. Look at the numbers, and remember - for the past eight years, Republicans have had either actual or effective control of the federal budget. During that time, the budget deficit has risen to absurd heights. Republicans have essentially bankrupted our nation.

Republicans are now the party of Socialism. They have nationalized our formerly private financial institutions. 'Nuff said there.

Republicans are now the party of interventionism. They launched a war of opportunity rather than necessity.

They talk a good game but do the opposite. They had six years of one-party rule, and two more with veto power over the Dems, and look what they actually have DONE. Not what they SAID, but what they DID.

Send this along to every Reep you know, and watch for the epidemic of exploding heads.

1. I tend to disagree
They are "pro-big business", and anti "UNION"! The republicans that backed "NOT" giving the U.S. auto makers a bailout are in the pockets of the foreign auto makers that have built factories in their states. All they wanted to do here is cause more problems, and they thought they could put a big crack in unions, or even better, break the auto workers union.

They are mostly anti "small business" but support the big corporations who want low pay, no benefits, and huge profits for the companies and the CEO's of those companies.

3. Bankrupting GM will do more damage than just busting Unions
...although that is, of course, the Reeps' motivation. The cost to businesses, large and small, would run into the tens of trillions.

No truly 'Pro-Business' party would act in such a manner.

2. They're hypocrites in the model of Reagan.
And who knows why they're BS still works? They're actions are in complete opposition to their words, yet people still listen. It makes me absolutely sick sick sick!

4. They are Free Traders and therefore pushing salaries down
down. US workers make too much money to be competitive. This
is why they support the transnationals shipping jobs overseas
where workers will work for lower pay.

This is why they support the HB-1 visas which brings workers into
the country so Companies here can have workers who work at cheaper
wages.

They are always supporting Business. Busting Unions means the
Companies can get cheaper labor and give fewer benefits.

5. I could buy that were it not for the collateral damage
Pushing GM into bankruptcy would bust the unions, most likely: but it would also wreak havoc on thousands of businesses.
