Today's GOP False Choice: Southern carmakers will lose if Detroit is given a loan.
I just heard Michael Smirconish (sp?) say that a loan for Detroit will take something away from Southern car plantations.

WTF is with these GOPers? Do they really believe people are that stupid?

Okay, people who vote for GOPers are that stupid, obviously, but they really believe everyone is?

2. With the possible exception of some outfit called GM down in Shreveport, La.

The Shreveport General Motors assembly plant will be shut down for an extended period of time after the first of the year following news the failure of the auto bailout Thursday night.

The plant announced last month that it would shut down for the first two weeks of January. That shutdown was extended this morning to Feb. 15, after a meeting of the plant’s upper management and union representatives.

& that would be a bad thing how, exactly?

These greedy assholes took auto and manufacturing away from NORTHERN cities, and left nothing but destruction and despair in their RACE TO THE BOTTOM with all their BRIBES and other money giveaways, becasue these assholes couldn't and wouldn't survive on a straight up choic on their own, and we should now give a fuck about these ANTI-UNION ANTI-WORKER assholes why, exactly?!

I say if the original premise happens, that would be a SIDE benifit!

7. It's a false choice.
The GOP-controlled media is trying to get people to think about and argue about the wrong issues.

It's not about where the plants are, it's about the zero-sum game thre GOP loves to play.

Dividing people into groups that fight each other over crumbs, while the bankers and investor class are safe from scrutiny.

4. That is their stock in trade: FALSE CHOICES.
Right now we know that their main goal is union busting, and that is what has be spread far and wide.
These guys will say ANYTHING, no matter how senseless to justify their impossible position because they sure as hell will never admit what their true goal is.

6. Yup. Divide and conquer.
It's not between workers in the South working for foreign countries and workers in Detroit, nor is it between American workers and Mexican workers.

It's between the investor class and unions.

5. Jealousy
It has to be tough for southern politicians to see our standard of living in Michigan.

Isn't jealousy a sin?
