A solution to the Blago Senate pick.
Most do not want Blagojevich to pick Obama's replacement. What if all concerned agree to refuse his appointment. The seat would stay open until he is removed, which hopefully will be soon.

1. No one needs to agree to decline the offer.
Anyone who would accept an offer of that seat from Blagojevich now isn't smart enough to be a senator.

2. I would love Pat Quinn to do the appointment of the senator. He is a true progressive
and squeaky clean. Lt gov and gov DO NOT run together on the IL ticket. It's not like prez and vp. Quinn and blago don't like each other and Quinn has been trying to get blago impeached for some time now.

3. I was thinking something similar the other day.
Although I was thinking that Blago would try and appoint someone before he's booted out of office, just to spite everyone. In that case, anyone he appoints should just turn it down, publicly. Let everyone know that as long as this guy is governor, Illinois will have only one senator. Barring a new special election law type of thing.
