Rival Middle East shoemakers are scrambling to claim credit for the loafer-tossing attack on Bush, which has become the stuff of anti-American legend in a Baghdad minute.
A shoe manufacturer in Turkey said his company made the footwear that disgruntled Iraqi TV reporter Muntadhar al-Zaidi flung at Bush.
Ramazan Baydan said sales have doubled since the weekend shoe-icide attack, which summed up deep-seated frustration over at the invasion of Iraq and other heavyhanded U.S. policies.
