6. Maybe not - Eastern was HORRIBLE this evening.
It's the only way in to Seven Hills - and it was GRIDLOCK...

I'm between the 95 and Boulder Highway off Horizon - and it looks like a "winter wonderland" here!!!

At least my Golden Retrievers are enjoying it - no sleeping on the bed for these wet puppies tonite!

29. You have Goldens too? The SIL who lives
in Henderson has two Goldens and a Golden/lab mix. She's also involved with the local Golden rescue. They are lovable dogs, but quite a handful. The youngest one was such a frisky puppy that my SIL dreaded taking her for a walk. The dog was definitely the stronger of the two and once ran her right into a cactus!

It's gotten so crowded on Eastern that it's pretty bad in normal weather. I can only imagine what it was like in the snow. Way too overbuilt up there.

7. Here in Pullman, Wa
it's rough. We've had temps in single digits and constant snow. My wife is a doctor and had to go in because of all the emergencies around. I'm a photojournalist and I'm following a story about a woman laying in a remote road and everyone is trying to get to her. I may go cover the search. It seems her husband wrecked the truck, she got out, walked some unknown distance and collapsed. Two ambulances have tried to reach them and have also gotten stuck. All of the snow plows are too far away and one of the farmers is offering snowmobiles. I may chain-up and join the search. The blowing snow and ice make everything almost impossible. The county just sent out a front-end loader but it will take an hour just to get to the road. You have to love the rural life.

14. Of course they will never understand that "global warming" will cause the weather to freak all over
colder in lots of place in addition to warm in others...

their peanut sized brains would never understand the concept at all...

24. Climate change is manifesting itself in intensified weather patterns
This is happening quite a bit faster than predicted.

Watch for intense periods of both hot weather and cold weather. In between the short times it is raining so hard there are flash floods, there will be long periods of no rain at all.

The minimum and maximum of weather extremes will get further apart, which is not good for life on the planet.

13. The "shovel" is supposed to be for GARDENING!!!
dirt - no "snow"...!!!

It's a good "coal shovel" type scoop for shoveling large amounts of dirt - but it worked on the snow!!!

20. Okay - NOW I'm sympathetic.
I remember shoveling my front walk with a garden spade one year (before I bought my beautiful, 20" wide snow shovel).

THAT is no fun at all.

You have to admit, it is just a teeny bit cool to have snow here, right? It'll be gone in a couple of days, tops!

17. Thats the High Desert for you
What?! Your realtor didn't tell you that snow is a relatively common, yet infrequent occcurance in the High Desert?

Isn't that a violation of the disclosure laws. I have seen it snow in Las Vegas many times, and I'm a California resident, who only visits occasionally, so what's the big deal?

If it snows for a week and then freezes hard for the next three weeks, then maybe you might have something to whine about, but until then, you aint seen nothing.

35. That's the accumulation?
Why, that's hardly enough to shovel out of the driveways here. Seriously, I don't even see a decent snowman being made out of that. On the other hand, you might get a couple decent snow angles, but your body heat is likely to melt the snow down to the grass.

Now that was some snow. I was a kid, but I remember playing in that deep, deep snow :)

We didn't get nearly as much on the Toronto side of the lake, tho.
