Joe Scar started his lauding of Bush*... I watch this program because

I can get it through the internet. And it allows me to digest my food with a lot of stomach churning... But Joe really is a disgusting, disgusting, disgusting piece of feces wrapped in a axe face.
He called Jimmy Carter one of the most repulsive human beings (paraphrasing) and saying Bush will be judged in the future for the changes he will be shown to have brought to the Middle East. And that the surge was great... nothing about the disaster of the WAR itself.

1. Why do you people watch that crap?
Seriously. Why on Earth would you subject yourself to that horseshit? Has your doctor told you that your blood pressure is running too low or something?

I never have understood why you people who listen to Rush or Hannity or O'Reilly or Scarborough or Beck do what you do. There is absolutely no reason for it. It's not like you don't instinctively know what their opinion will be on any subject imaginable.

Sheesh.

2. I am not in the USA. And I like to keep up with the LEFT and the RIGHT. I don't really watch, watch
I have headphones and listen while I do other stuff. It does keep me informed, and then in the evening I can get KO and Rachel... But I do need to know what the right does, it is like a fascination. And I WILL NOT listen or watch FOX, which I can also get through the web.

4. That's really no excuse
Most leftish shows feature segments on what the right-wing talking points of the day are, including plenty of sound and video clips. Like Randi Rhodes says, she listens so you don't have to.

And like I said, it's not really like you don't know what they're going to say on any subject, anyway . So why bother?

5. Listening to the right only gives them credence.
You won't catch me watching or listening to rush limbbal. I get vocal about it too when I go in somewhere and some of that shit is on the radio or teevee. I've been asked to leave too and I do if it isn't turned off. rush nuts and the others are traitors when it comes right down to it and should be dealt with as such... IMHO

No big deal though you listen to what you want and I'm fine with that, but I don't or won't is all.:hi:

6. I am very fortunate, because the press here is very good, and the news is news. But even though I
don't plan to ever live in the US again, I like to keep informed. I am not going to be influenced by what they say, but it is, for me, good to know. I would never be able to think the way the right does, and it is always good for me to be ready to counteract opinions of the American rightwingers I occasionally meet (VERY FEW AND FAR BETWEEN, as compared to what I had when I lived in the USA).

7. Thats cool
no big deal but I'm inclined to think we are the sum of all the knowledge and if some of that knowledge is tainted its going to have an effect on decision we make wether we are aware of it or not. Like I said no big deal just typing how I see it. :hi:

3. Here in the USA, at least here in the Bible Belt...
Edited on Thu Dec-18-08 09:13 AM by UnrepentantUnitarian
we get enough of a daily dose of this crap already without ever having to see it on a cable "news" show or hear it on radio. Maybe for you it's different, but here it's all over the place...in the papers, in our families, in the workplace, in the stores where we shop***...you name it. That's why some of us really can't understand the obsession people (otherwise good, level-headed folks) have to be voluntarily disgusted and offended on a regular basis by these professional jerks. It's not an unwillingness to hear both sides, we already get that whether we like it or not.

*** and plastered all over the bumper stickers of the cars we meet, and now some of these folks even want to have it on their license plates (tags) as well.
