What if Obama picked Farrakhan instead of Warren?
Would you people who are supporting his Warren decision still support his decision?

It's only 2 minutes up there, right? Nobody will remember it, right?

What if ol' Lou got up there, being a member of the Nation of Islam and an America critic? How would you react then?

For all the uproar yesterday about us outrage junkies - not too many folks are willing to attempt to disagree that the exact same Bible used actively today against a different group of people is completely beyond the pale but as long as it's just us queer folk, then it's totally ok.

In all sympathy with your basic point: Reality is he picked (or allowed) Warren and I agree it's wrong. Hypothetically, there are several thousand other scenarios we can imagine, none of which matter.

12. I'd support Sam Harris or Richard Dawkins. Why do we need a goofball
preacher up there anyway? How about a haruspex to slaughter some animals on the capitol steps and read the national omens in the entrails. We could hire the guy who was slaughtering turkeys in the Palin interview. He'd do.
