The "correct" answer: no religious ceremony within the inauguration.
There is about a 0% of that happening, but it's good to know there is a correct answer.

You are spot on. I'm no fan of Warren, but I also know there is nobody Obama could have picked to give a prayer that will be forgotten within moments of its conclusion, that would satisfy DU.

The correct answer is none of the above, as you said.

What about the faiths that will not have their beliefs observed during the "ceremony"? Does their "brand" of religion not matter? The answer is yes, apparently.

12. Tough Shit On Them. The Ceremony Isn't About Them. All That Matters Is The Faith Of The Person Who
is being honored by the ceremony. If someday an atheist was elected, I doubt they would be forced to go through a religious ceremony. It is voluntary and PERFECTLY acceptable. There is no a thing wrong with the religious ceremony as part of the inauguration, and it is a highly ignorant logic to classify it as otherwise (at least in a legal sense anyway).

I'm just now reading up on this Rick Warren person and I completely understand why DU has exploded over this. I'm disappointed in this decision.

I just really want to know that my Democratic leaders are taking the current civil rights battles seriously. Warren doesn't fit into that vision.
