I admitted I was bummed when it appeared that KIRK was passed over as Transportation Secretary in favor of Rethug LAHOOD, for which he was supposedly being vetted, but I'm fine now. I don't know what Trade Rep actually does, but sounds like more fun than heading a huge department, travel and meet'n'greets?

KIRK was a protege of Ann RICHARDS, was TX Secty of State, 1st Black mayor of Dallas, ran a good race to replace Phil "ENRON" GRAMM in ('02?).

All of us different constituent groups have been bummed over one or another of the different choices, but imagine the contrast with the past 8 years and with what Mc5PLANEs would have put together. As somebody said when the first nominees were announced, "He's picking the cream of the cream (overall)."
