I ask this because I want to know if he is responsive to grassroots opinion, or whether he changes his mind only after consulting with political insiders, or whether he rarely if ever has changed his mind on an issue. I am looking for facts to discuss, not mere rants for or against Obama.

2. He dropped his first CIA choice.
He has changed some of the things on his agenda page at change.gov.

But, he won't change this one. He's too far in. He released talking points, defended the choice, etc.

4. I think he changed his mind about the Big Three
Initially he was for a prepackaged bankruptcy, and then he was for awarding them the package decided on by congress.

He's not so crazy, now, about raising taxes on anyone in the middle of a recession.

Also, I think he was ahead of the curve on capital injections to banks. (Not a change, but staying the course on his opinion). Initially, when Paulson was in favor of purchasing damaged assets, Obama was arguing in favor of capital injection.

He seems like a very open minded person who listens to a lot of people and is not afraid to surround himself, like Kennedy did, with people who are experts in their areas.

8. John Brennan, torture promoter on cable shows, withdrew from consideration
to be appointed intelligence head guy in Obama's cabinet. There was a pretty big outcry about that although, of course, it's not possible to know if that's why he pulled out.
