Levi Johnston's mother hit with drug charges

Arrested: her son was in the spotlight as father of bristol palin's baby.

WASILLA -- A 42-year-old Wasilla woman was arrested Thursday at her home by Alaska State Troopers with a search warrant in an undercover drug investigation. Sherry L. Johnston was charged with six felony counts of misconduct involving a controlled substance.

Johnston is the mother of Levi Johnston, the Wasilla 18-year-old who received international attention in September when Gov. Sarah Palin and her husband, Todd, announced their teenage daughter was pregnant and he was the father. Bristol Palin, 18, is due on Saturday, according to a recent interview with the governor's father, Chuck Heath.

Troopers served the warrant at Johnston's home at the "conclusion of an undercover narcotics investigation," said a statement issued Thursday by the troopers as part of the normal daily summary of activity around the state.

Troopers charged Johnston with second-degree misconduct involving a controlled substance -- generally manufacturing or delivering drugs -- as well as fourth-degree misconduct involving controlled substances, or possession.

Hopefully one of our beloved Alaskan DUers can chime in here...but isn't marijuana possession considered a misdemeanor in the state? And even then, if there a quanity involved, isn't this listed differently? Thus this sure sounds like something was cooking in the kitchen and it sure wasn't toll house cookies!

I honestly feel for this woman and her son...I'm certain the sudden "fame" she and her son have had to go through hasn't been fun...especially now since the Barracuda lost and is back in town rather than doing her paid job in Juneau. There's a part of me that thinks Mrs. Palin has returned with some scores to settle and "messes to clean up"...I wonder if she was tipped off to this raid or was had any prior knowledge that her future son-in-law's mother was about to get busted...and probably will end up in the slammer.

14. I kinda feel bad for Levi .. I'm not making excuses about him
contributing to knoc*ing up Bristol, but I think it's clear lack of parental involvement and discipline in his life has been a huge factor.

His mother is a clearly fucked up.



And it's carried down to her self-proclaimed redneck son.
