never sit in a snow covered home...you do not know silence in a home.. It is like several layers of insulation that shuts out the outside.

I am a person that loves the seasons..all of them .

I like 80 very much.. but I also like 20 and white snow..

27.  35-40mph winds are blowing down my street
wind chills down into the 30-40`s but not as much snow as madison wisconsin. if this keeps up we`ll have another year of bad floods down the rock river watershed.

the coldest wind chill where i`m at was -70 in 1977-8. it went below 32 degrees on thanksgiving and never reached 32 until the middle of february. if i remember correctly there were 21 days that never reached 0....

the next year we received 85 inches of snow....

i know you`d like to spend a few months in the northern parts of the usa in the winter....

oh yes the sun is shining here too...but it`s shining through 30mph winds and powder

59. Here in Iowa we have blizzard conditions
We had about a foot of snow dumped on us Thursday. Then we had another couple inches yesterday, and the wind was blowing so hard that it was blowing snow around to the point that it was a whiteout. The winds are supposed to be dying down now, but there's now a wind chill warning - we're expecting wind chills of -30 to -40. I'll go to start my car tomorrow and it'll probably tell me to get f--ked.

64. Was rained in until today.
It rained six straight days - and I'm allergic to mold. I was miserable. Today's the first day I have taken a deep breath in days.

I still have the dehumidifier going in the basement, though, because the ground looks like a mud wrestling arena. The dogs were so happy just go out running on the back deck (it's elevated as my house is built on a hill - the first floor in the front is the second floor in the back. We have three stories). We put them out there to do business when it's too muddy - and then just scoop up or pour water on the, uh, mess. They've been cooped up in the basement for six days (it's a full sized, finished, heated basement/rupus room - no worries - they just like to go outside and smell and bark and all that dog stuff).

It's been pretty miserable in Knoxville, TN. I'd rather have snow. It hasn't done more than dusted snow here since the Blizzard of 1993.

109. No... LOL
It was 65 degrees the whole time. Mold weather. :(

It got cold tonight, though. The cloud cover broke, so the humidity left into the atmosphere.

67. Snowed in here in Mill Creek (just above Seattle).
It's coming down more now. I mapped out a bus route for work tomorrow because I'm not driving in this. I almost got hit a few times the other day driving to work by drivers sliding all over the road.

83. Not just snowed in but stranded in Oregon...
left the Bay Area Weds to drive to our cabin on Vancouver Island. Me, blind dog and deaf cat in a 19ft Toyota Winnebago - husband flew up a week ago. I've been stuck in an rv park just south of Florence Oregon (Woahink Lake)since Friday - roads north a few miles are snowed in and passes over to I5 ditto. Portland is a nightmare of snow, ice and accidents. So, I'm hunkered down, listening to audio books on my Ipod and playing computer games. Thank god this place has wifi or I'd be going nuts!!

Really good chance I won't make it to Van Isle for xmas. I was to be cooking for 8-10 at our place and have all the food with me - hope they all have a plan 'B' :)

Currently as black as night here with monsoon like rain/hail and very high winds - all falling as snow a few miles east and north of me.

I'm warm, dry and comfy but boy do I have 'cabin fever'!!!

The roads are crappy though, so we are hanging inside.

Fortunately we have not lost power.

Of course there is already snow on the ground and it will probably be here until May but the last few weeks have been warm(relatively), no snow and the sunrises have been gorgeous!

But I had heard from someone with a Farmer's Almanac that this is supposed to be a long and snowy winter, so I wasn't surprised when it showed up.

103. Sort of snowed in
I live outside of Seattle. If we had to get out, we'd put chains on the car. Most of what we need is within walking distance. Most of the town was open when we went out this morning! The lights keep browning out though - I'm worried about losing power!

but my son and his wife tried to leave Boston for San Diego yesterday and could not leave until today. They were re-routed Boston-St Louis-San Diego and will be home tomorrow at noon instead of last night at midnight - snow, tech difficulties and - get this - not enough pilots?

Anyway, I am excited - I can't wait to see my 26 year old baby boy!!!
