1. Bah! It's -3F in South Central WI right now, but you don't hear us complaining!
Admittedly, that's probably because we're FROZEN SOLID...

5. -3F is cold?
Edited on Sun Dec-21-08 07:50 PM by Shiver
Please, this is summer for us. We have only two seasons here, remember - winter and road construction.

In all seriousness, it is damn cold here - wind chill is around -24F, if I'm not mistaken. My name is very apt right now...

6. stay warm
Now I feel bad for bemoaning the fact that it will be 79 on Christmas Day. I was hoping the cold front would stay.

15. It's cold here in San Antonio :-) but will be 79 on Christmas Day. :-(
I like cold weather. The heat and humidity in Texas is starting to wear me down. I can't take it any more.

7. Hey, at least we've only got about ten inches of snow on the ground
Compare that with the 8 year snow job we've gotten from Lord Cheney.

11. I am glad you (& I for that matter) have warm place to be.
I'm going to guess that you (also like me) have enough food and enjoy relatively decent health. I hope everyone who replies to complain about their weather gives a thought (or perhaps more) to those who are not as well off.

*stepping off soapbox*

13. Actually, the first thing I thought about when I stepped outside today was.....
.....the homeless man I saw standing at 8 Mile and I-75 with a "Please Help" sign and how cold he must be.

Wind: From WSW at 17 mph gusting to 30 mph

:scared: :scared: :scared: :scared:

... WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT...

WESTERLY WINDS WILL CONTINUE TO GUST UP TO 35 MPH THROUGH THE REST OF THE EVENING. THIS WILL CREATE WIND CHILLS OF 10 TO 20 DEGREES BELOW ZERO. IN ADDITION... FALLING AND BLOWING SNOW WILL REDUCE VISIBILITIES TO LESS THAN A MILE AT TIMES. MANY ROADS WILL ALSO REMAIN SNOW COVERED AND SLIPPERY. NORTH TO SOUTH ROADS WILL EXPERIENCE THE MOST SEVERE DRIFTING... WITH DRIFTS IN EXCESS OF A FOOT POSSIBLE. IF YOU MUST VENTURE OUT TONIGHT... DRESS FOR THE EXTREMELY COLD TEMPERATURES. FROST BITE AND HYPOTHERMIA CAN SET IN VERY QUICKLY IF THESE PRECAUTIONS ARE NOT TAKEN. MOTORISTS SHOULD ALSO USE EXTREME CAUTION ON THE ROADS AND BE PREPARED FOR SNOW COVERED AND ICY ROADS AS WELL AS RAPIDLY FLUCTUATING VISIBILITIES.

24. I was outside for about half an hour this morning
Had to walk my bf's dog. It was 2 with a wind chill of -24. The tip of one of my toes has yet to regain feeling - and it's been 12 hours. I haven't looked at it yet - too cold even inside to take socks off.

25. Last night it dropped all the way to 32 round these parts
now I know it is much warmer, but I could not help thinking of the many folks living in the ciudades perdidas in Tijuana for whom it might as well be 1 degree with a windchill factor of are you f****ing kidding me?

I also told a few firefighters, keep warm guys

27. Gonna be the same here tonight. Low temp of 4F, windchill of -15F.
We don't see cold like this very often, so it makes me nervous. I'm already hearing trees cracking, and there's ice on the INSIDE of the windows. Ugh.
