there's approx. 300 million people in the US - total.
Even if we assume "100's of millions" really means 1 hundred million that's still 1 out of every 3 people in the US.
I'm sure if you knock out children too young to read, blind people, the illiterate, the satanists (us), the catatonic, etc. etc. you'd probably knock that down to something like 1 out of every 2.5 people.

I'm sure I know somebody who has read it ... I just never realized that nearly every other person has read it.
