G. Gordon Liddy and "buying" gold.
Anyone see that? I was switching between TNT (channel 40) and SpikeTV (channel 44) - Faux is on 42, and he was on a commercial hawking some kind of scam to "buy" gold.

Anyone know about this?

1. From your description, it sounds like some gold dealer hired GGL as a celebrity spokesman
Is that about right?

2. He's picking up where Charlton Heston left
It's one of the few legal ways to hype investments and sell when suckers people buy in.

8. that's the reason cable companies don't want to allow you to pick and choose the
stations you want ... (you have to pay for their "chosen" blocks of stations) ... shopping channels, religious channels, and Faux would go bankrupt because too few people would want to buy that crap, if they had a choice ...

(if you can do "on demand programming", why can't you pay as you go with cable?)

7. Doesn't Thom Hartmann hawk for a similar (same?) sponsor?
I know I've heard these "buy gold" commercials on AAR.

14. Yes, as does Randi Rhodes. I write it off as having to keep those checks coming in.
the gold coin dealers are a scam. Between the spread and fees, your gold had to appreciate about 40% to reach break-even.

10. I'll keep it simple
In 1999 I bought 20 oz's of gold for $5140. In March of 08 I sold them individually for over $1100 a piece. You all do the math. Buy low, sell high.

11. Thats a hell of a deal, last week I saw a kilo bar (32oz) selling for $25k
And that was selling for about $100 an oz cheaper than the going rate.

17. He thrusts his certificate at you with all of the barely contained, manly rage he can muster

"BUY YOUR GOLD WHERE I BUY MINE"

Yeah. It's cheesy as hell.
