Police say Alliance man initially unsure how crack got into his underwear

(Ohio) Crack usually doesn't just show up floating in a toilet, an Alliance police detective testified Friday.

Alliance Municipal Court Judge Robert G. Lavery found probable cause that Michael L. Johnson, 41, of Canton, had brought the drugs into the Alliance City Jail and bound him over to the Stark County grand jury.

City police investigators James Hilles and Bob Rajcan noted during a search of Johnson at the scene that they felt an object in the front of his pants. Johnson said he had money concealed in his underwear.
Johnson didn't acknowledge any other illegal contraband despite previous inquiries by investigators.

After collecting the currency in question, a strip search was ordered and $40 and a plastic sandwich bag containing 1 gram of crack were netted. Vesco said he went to fill out a forfeiture form and, upon returning, saw currency falling out of Johnson's pant leg.

Gathering up the money and changing the amount to account for the additional currency, Vesco returned to see a plastic sandwich bag of crack in the toilet of Johnson's cell.
