I Guess MSNBC Is Not A News Channel & It Pisses Me Off.......
I guess no news happens today because it's Christmas. I turned on MSNBC - which is my news network of choice - and lo and behold - no news - only special feature programming (i.e., Model NYC & Crime & Punishment)all day. What's that about?

Go to CNN & Fox - now both of them are reporting the news. Yes - they might have some seasonal happy stories - but they still are reporting the news.

MSNBC wants us to believe that they are a "news channel". They want the ratings and they want us to watch them for the news - but on any given holiday or even on Sundays (which they have abbreviated news offerings) they take these days off.

Hey MSNBC - how are we ever going to respect you as a 'cable news network' if you don't do your job?

I'm sorry - but that's what I expect from a 'news network' - NEWS. You don't get a day off. You should be there for us and report what is going on in the world - even though it could be a slower news day - I'm sure that 'things are still happening that you should inform us about'. I'm sure Morning Joe still has an opinion. I'm sure that Mika would still be his lapdog. I'm sure that Chris Matthews can still speak out of both sides of his mouth. I'm sure that Pat Buchanan is still a 'racist, Bush loving Repug'. I'm sure that Keith and Rachel haven't gone over to the dark side and still would offer us another perspective. And do you mean that David Gregory doesn't want to 'ham-up the camera' and give us his fake serious look? And what about David Schuster? Is Bush not pardoning anyone today? Hasn't Barney bit a reporter today? Is nothing happening at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave today? If no one is home - isn't this a good opportunity for 'Bin Laden' - who Bush/Cheney haven't caught - ripe to attack us again? Oh - I guess Bin Laden was told by the MSNBC programmers to take the day off - because they wouldn't give him any air time anyway?

I guess no oil issues. Or global warming issues. No bailouts. No sports. No weather to report. And I guess all those people stranded at airports don't matter either.

Hell - I'd even settle for your second string today and learn to deal with Alicia Witt - and her syrupy delivery - if you'd just give us the news.

I'm sorry for my rant - but MSNBC pisses me off - when they take off like this. I don't know how they will ever get respect as a serious 'cable news channel' if they take days off.

I'll stop now - but am I the only one that feels this way about MSNBC? If so - I'll just go back to bed and wait until tomorrow - when things start happening again in the world.

13. It's like the "George never lived" scenes in "It's A Wonderful Life" ....
it's the opposite of enriching your life with positives ...

Gambling, Torture, Prisons, Tattooing, Boxing/Wrestling and

sports that breed violence contribute to the no-George world.

4. I go to a few web sites to get my morning news
I turned daytime m$m 'news' off a year and a half ago. For the same reason, they piss me off. I've saved a few bucks in electrical usage as a bonus and I don't feel I've missed a thing.

7. That's probably the best plan. Go online to read the news for a day. I prefer
BBC Worldwide. Good coverage there, and you can link up to any continent's events and news.

8. This is what they were before they were a "news" channel . .
It's their default.. and a grievous fault it is, too.

11. All of em are media not news. They spew infotainment for people
with no brains. The last two days they have all been "reporting" on an angel saving a little girls life. What drivel. It's "snewze" for idiots. Turn off the box if you want to save your mind.

12. I agree with you.
MSNBC is a joke. My New Year's resolution is to cancel cable and forget t.v. totally. It's all dreadful. If it weren't for old movies on TCM and ancient episodes of The Andy Griffith show my t.v. would never get turned on.
