First, God is the source of moral rules. As the feminist thinker Carole Gilligan argued years ago, men think more in terms of rules, and women think more in terms of feelings/compassion/ intuition. There is a great human need for both. But, first and foremost, the Judeo-Christian God is a moral ruler (giver of moral rules and moral judge of humanity), and neither men nor women want to be given rules or ruled by a woman. For both men and women, the masculine image carries an authority that the feminine one does not. When I saw the OP, I remembered faintly reading something about Prager and divorce, and so I googled "Prager divorce," and it really entertained me when I found that at freeperland.

Surprise. The biggest "paragons of virtue," as they fancy themselves, are the worst offenders, the least saintly.

We have to keep pounding them with this. O'Reilly and his sexual advances on that young woman who was smart enough to tape him is a prime example. Enough with being polite - Keith Olbermann is a great example of holding that dingbat's feet to the fire. We've all got to do that with these people. Just because our man won the election, just because we've got a majority in Congress, just because we're in charge now doesn't mean that they're going to back off.

We just have to learn to pound these people over the head with their own words, their own deeds.

If a woman is ill or on her moon and feeling painful, it is not a good idea to demand sex. And the man should know this by communicating with his wife--this communication thing should be a two way street.

I find it interesting that this person seems to think that a man has a right to sex anytime. The Bible says that a couple is not to have intercourse at certain times--so even the Bible insists that men curtail their desires.

Ok, that's a slight distortion. I have three mistresses. When any one of them wants a belly-rub, an extra dose of 'nip or the catbox cleaned, I jump right up and do her will. Not sure where this falls on the Prager-Scale of required obeisance.

Well, first of all, no one would be forcing something on the other that they did not want at that moment ("for better or worse" ring a bell Dennis?).

Secondly, women are fully human as are men, and capable of extremes of sexual satisfaction just like men. Just because this guy has never seen a woman's deep sexuality, doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

And finally, if you have to constantly ask for it, there's just something wrong. Solve that problem first. His 'advice' is simply terrible. And what's tragic is there are many couples who'll agree to this.

she should try to see if another man gets her in the mood. maybe the problem isn't that a woman "isn't in the mood." maybe she isn't in the mood to have sex with her husband. if she's in the mood with another man, she should then tell her husband about being in the mood with another man and explain what that other man did that "put her in the mood" so that her husband could try those same things.

I think my advice is as valid as his (in other words, both are stupid.)
